The same atlas, as a native app for iPhone and iPad: the world’s borders from 123,000 BCE to 2026, with the events, people and wars of each period pinned in place.
What it does
- Move through time
- The ruler steps through the maps the atlas holds, and a finer year bar opens for reading a single war or a single life. Ask for a year the atlas has no map for and it shows the nearest one and says so.
- Open what is on the map
- Tap a region, an event or a person to read it: the date, the place, the story and the pictures. A war’s theatres are drawn over the land for the years it ran.
- Find one thing
- Search across events, people, wars and places.
- Keep and share
- Star a record to keep it. A shared link opens the same record on this website, so it works for somebody without the app.
- One account
- Sign in and your saves and notes are the same on the app and on the website.
- iPad
- On the larger screen the eras run down the side and a record opens beside the map rather than over it.
