The Battle of Río Salado also known as the Battle of Tarifa (30 October 1340) was a battle of the allied Christian armies of King Alfonso XI of Castile and King Afonso IV of Portugal against the allied Muslim armies of Sultan Abu al-Hasan 'Ali of the Marinids and Emir Yusuf I of the Emirate of Granada.
