Husayn Beg Shamlu (1452–1514)

Hossein Beg Laleh Shamlu (Persian: حسین بیگ شاملو; 1452 – 23 August 1514) was a Qizilbash officer of Turkoman origin, who occupied high offices under Shah Ismail I (r. 1501–1524), the founder of the Safavid dynasty. He was the first person to serve as the vakil (vicegerent) of the Safavid Empire.
